SEC Championship Bama - v - Florida December 3 - 6, 2009

SEC Championship - Georgia Dome, Atlanta, GA
Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Nicolette, Dottee and Mollee
This Nicolette's first RV Trip.  We left for the ATL Thursday, Dec. 3 around 6 PM.  Tim and Jonathan were in the RV and Tanya and Nicolette followed in the Escalade.  We had Nicolette's GPS so we had no problems with directions.  WE had to stop and fill the Caddie with fuel and stop at the Flying J - exit 19 - to fill Allie with fuel and top off the water to prevent the August disaster from being repeated.

The lot is crowded but we are able to find a good spot.  We parked, got leveled and set up inside.  We unloaded the car.  IT IS COLD!

Friday morning it is COLD! For breakfast we had biscuits, steak and chicken.  Jonathan, Tim and Nicolette were setting up outside when TV 33/40 came through the RV lot and interviewed the group.  Then it was off to lunch at Taco Mac and a walk to Olympic Park.  Phil calls and they are going to FanFare.  We will meet up with them later.

Taco Mac was good.  Then a walk to Olympic Park where we see Kirk Herbstreet adn Desmond Howard.

We had our pictures made by the Christmas Tree.

We were able to meet up with Phil, Lynda, Michael, Amanda, Michael Jr., Matthew and Laura.  Oh my the boys are so cute.  We played football with Michael and Matthew.

Michael and Matthew ran and played and were adorable.

Back at the RV, we must make a trip to Publix's.  We needed a few supplies.  Afater the Publix trip we played Wii.  Nephie and Nicolette SMOKED Tim and Tanya in bowling mostly because Tanya's left hook has returned with a vengence.  The only solution, play Wii every day!

We cooked steaks.  We built a campfire.  It was a great day.  We walked back to Olympic Park and took Dottee and Mollee.

During the night, Nicolette heard a fight outside the RV.  Bottles breaking, yelling, etc.

Saturday morning the day began with Nephie saying "They're here" meaning James, Ivan,Steve, Amy and Isabella are parking and walking to the RV.  We are all still in bed.  Everyone was up immediately and getting dressed in record time.

Tanya proceeds to make coffee and breakfast. Saturday morning Tim found the evidence of the fight that awoke Nicolette.

We watched ESPN Gameday and then Amy, Isabella, Tanya and Nicollette take Mollee and Dottee for a walk around the dome.

Tim made Timz Dogz.  James and Ivan went to pick up Leah.  Finally it's game time.  WOW what a game.  Everyone bundled up and watched the game outside.

Everyone was cheering.  Horns were blowing.  It was LOUD and CRAZY.  It was fun!  BAMA WINS, BAMA WINS... Whoooooo

Bama is SEC Champs!  We go to the Dome to see the players.  Tanys gets interviewd by an ATL news crew.

We wait for the players and see a few.  Then back to the RV.  In the lot there is a parade.  Yes, a parade of BAMA fans and a jeep playing the Rammer Jammer, the fight song and Bama cheers.  It was so much fun.

Sunday morning began quickly because we had to get up and get moving.  We had to be out of hte RV lot because Falcons fans were moivng in.  We stopped by the Flying J to dump the tanks.  No problems on teh trip home.  BAMA SEC CHAMPS!  #1 and going to the National Championship Game in Pasadena.   Allie is 42-8.

Bama - v - UTC November 21. 2009

November 20 - November 22, 2009 BAMA - v - UTC
Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee, and Mollee

Friday was an interesting day. Mother was leaving the hospital and going to rehab. Tim, Tanya, and Jonathan met Mother at the Rehab Center in Piedmont and got her settled in. Then to the Barnes house to pack for T-town. No trouble on the ride to T-town. We are able to get in the lot by 6:30. We unloaded the car, set up the RV and wait for Ivan to arrive.

Ivan arrives and we meet Nicolette and Jada at Mugshots for dinner. Dinner was great as usual and then it was off to Publix for our weekly trip for grilling supplies. Why we do not win Publix’s tailgater of the week amazes me! Next stop, Twice the Ice! Even though it is cool, we still need ice for drinks.

Since Bama’s game is a early kickoff, we are having breakfast casserole. Nicolette is taking it to her house and will cook it before returning on Saturday morning.

Friday night around midnight, the Rehab center called and Mother was not doing well and they were sending her to the ER in Gadsden. Her O2SAT is low. Tanya had to call Daddy so he could go with Mother to the ER. Saturday morning we called to check on them and they were STILL in the ER. Nicolette and Jada arrived with the casserole. Everyone was still in their pajamas. Tanya calls Mother’s doctor and leaves a message for him. Nan and Ellen arrived. We are still putting away beds because we have been trying to find out information about Mother. We began to set up outside. Janis, Randy, Hunter and Brianna arrive. Finally we get everything set up. We called Mother’s sister Ann and she was going to check in on her. We also called David and Elaine. Ivan decided to skip the ballgame and go to Gadsden. Tanya sent Phil a message to let him know Mother was back in the hospital. In the meantime, Steve, Amy, James, Leah, and Isabella arrived. Phil called and he was also going to Gadsden. Things settled down and it was game time.

A new problem, as if we didn’t have enough. We can’t find the bike lock keys. We searched and searched. Finally decide they are in the Xterra which is in Anniston. John, next door, beat the lock off the bike rack. Tim and Tanya are off to the game. Tanya stopped at the Corner, Gingers and the Supe Store before finding a lock. On to the ballgame. In the meantime, Mother had gotten admitted and into a room. Daddy has gone home to rest. Ivan is keep us updated through phone calls and text messages. She is stable and getting oxygen.

Bama won-45-0. WHOOOOOOO, Tim left the game early to go to the RV and get the kabobs ready for grilling. Back at the RV, its time to grill. Ginger, next door, is grilling pizzas. YUM! Pizzas were great. The best I have ever eaten. The kabobs were great. A great season of football and tailgating.

Since the BAMA game began at 11:21, everyone was tired and we had an early evening.  Even Dottee and Mollee were tired!

Saturday night, Jonathan work up Tanya and Tim because it was raining and storming. The awning was out and the wind was BAD. At 330 AM, Tim and Jonathan were outside rolling up the awning. It rained and rained, but NO LEAKS! YEA!

Sunday morning, Tim went for papers. The pack up and clean up process began. Pack up and clean up was easy. We dumped the tanks and filled up with fresh water so the RV would be heavier and easier to drive home in the WIND! The trip home was uneventful.

In two weeks, it is onto the ATL for the SEC Championship game. WHOOOOOOOO

Till……. December 5 RTR

Bama - v LSU November 2009

Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee and Mollee -11/6/09-11/8/09  BAMA - v - LSU

Tanya spent the morning at CARES getting meds for the continuous sinus infection.  A BAD way to spend the morning.

Jonathan picked up Tanya at work.  Tim was at home so when we arrived at the house, we finalized the loading and left for TTown.  The trip was quick and easy.  After arriving in TTown we sent to the STRIP.  We went to Express and purchased a new "animal" for our collection.  This one is a tiger that is wearing a shirt which says "I wish I was Big AL"    Then it was back to Cottondale to pick up Allie and move to Coleman.  We got parked, unloaded and set up with no problem.  YEA!   We are resuming our normal routines.  Dinner at Mugshots, trip to Publixs and Twice the Ice.

At Mugshots we ran into the Hulsey's and decided to have dinner together.  We placed our name on the list and were told that it would be 1  1/2  hours.  SO.... off to the bar to place a takeout order.  While waiting to place our order, we make friends with some LSU folks.    The takeout order is going to take a while so we leave the Hulsey's waiting for the food and we go to Publixs for our supplies.  Back at Mugshots, Tim and Jonathan drive around the block while Tanya goes in for the food.  AND the order still isn't ready.  Finally, the order arrives but it is missing fries and pickles.  Chuck is very nice and corrects the order.  Finally...... now to Twice the Ice.  Ivan met us at the RV.  Jonathan set up the Real Big AL.

Saturday morning, Ivan and Tim went for breakfast.  Tanya and Jonathan set up chairs and got the RV ready for the day.  After breakfast, Tim began making Timz Dogz.  Tanya and Ivan took Dottee and Mollee for their weekly trip to the stadium.  Meanwhile, Nan, Ellen, Jame, Leah, Steve, Amy, Isabella, Zeke, Marc and Kathy arrived.   This is Zeke's first tailgate.  Timz Dogz were great as usual.  Dottee tried to steal my hotdog.  Finally, it is GAME TIME!

The game was so exciting.  Bama trailed but fought back to win 24-15.  WHEW !  Tim and Ivan left the game.  Nephie and Tanya stayed for the whole game.  Tanya had several "fits" - aka Saban fits - of anger over play calling (throwing out of the endzone) and breaking the huddle with 12 men. THANKS to Scarlett who kept Tanya entertained -via text messages- or Tanya may have completely lost it during the 4th quarter. : ) Tanya may need anger management or Xanax if McElwayne continues to throw the ball while the offensive line and quarterback's feet are in the ENDZONE.

Back at the RV, champagne to celebrate that  BAMA WINS THE WEST!  WHOOOOOOO!   Anne and Taylor join us after the game for burgers and celebration cookie!   The Duncans left after eating.  Jonathan took Anne and Taylor to their car.  Tanya put away all the chairs. It was a GREAT day and a GREAT evening.

Sunday morning Tim took the pups out and then went to get Tanya's bike.  Tanya's bike was chained to a light pole because Tim left the game early and there was only one bike lock key so Tanya walked back to the RV after the game.  Jonathan went for breakfast and papers.  After breakfast, Tim took Tanya and Jonathan on a tour of a new Allie.  WOW!!!!!  the improvements since 2004 are amazing!  It is also a diesel.   All I want for Christmas is a new Allie  no,no no, no that is correct,  All I want for Christmas ........... is a national championship.  You can always buy a RV.   The rest of the clean up , inside the RV and outside was painless.  The filling of fuel, water and dumping went smoothly.  That's always a blessing.  The ride home was uneventful.  BAMA - SEC WEST  CHAMPIONS!   whooooooooooooo  Now for Mississippi State!

Bama - v - UT October 24, 2009

It's Tennessee Week! WHOOOOOO! A little drama concerning the time we were able to leave Anniston, but it all worked out and we left around 4 PM. Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee and Mollee arrived in T-town, picked up the RV and were in line for Coleman by 6 PM. We get the RV parked and leveled and James, Leah, Steve, Amy and Isabelle arrived. Car unpacked and RV set up and its dinner time. The crew proceeds to Mugshots. Nicolette and Mark are meeting us at Mugshots. We place our name on the list and are told that the wait is 2 hours. We volunteer to split into 2 tables and they still say 2 hours. We call Wings and put our name on the list. The crew moves to Wings. Our wait is 30 minutes but that is great for a table for 11 which turns into a table of 14 when Mark's friends (Jonathan, Anna and Tony) joined us. After Wings we needed to make our weekly trip to Publix's but we were closer to Target so we went there. As we walk in they ask all Target customers to make their final selections and bring to the front. We divide and conquer our list and meet at the front. Unfortunately they do not have all of our items so a trip to Publixs will be made Tuesday morning. Back at the RV, we unload the groceries and watch the highlights of HS football. Wellborn won and is headed to the playoffs. WHOOOOOO Go Panthers.
Saturday morning's weekly duties resume. Tim goes for breakfast and also must make a run to Publixs for ice and other supplies for the tailgate. Nicolette dropped off supplies. Jonathan and Tanya got the outside set up and ready for football. People began arriving, Ivan, Pattie, Nicolette, James, Leah, Steve, Amy, Isabelle, Randy, Janis, Brianna, Hunter and Hunter's friend. Tim and Pattie began working on the Timz Dogz. Tanya took the pups for a walk. Nan and Ellen arrived. The gangs all back together. It was a beautiful day. Robert and Derrick stopped by the tailgate. Candi, Hannah, Hannah's friend, and McKenzie arrived. Timz Dogz were a hit and all were eaten. After the game Jambalaya, grilled chicken and sausage are on the menu for dinner. John and Brenda came by before the game. Janis and Randy didn't have tickets so they are staying at the RV to watch the game as are Candi, Hannah, Hannah's friend and McKenzie.
Finally, it is game time. The game was terrific. The crowd was loud. In the last 3 minutes of the game, UT roughed Bama's punter and Bama got the ball back only to fumble. UT scored and kicked an onside kick. Bama lost the onside kick and had to block a field goal to win the game. Mt. Cody block 2 kicks in the 4th quarter to preserve the Bama win. Bama wins 12 -10 to remain undefeated. 8 - 0 .
Back at the RV, Janis and Randy had grilled all the food. WOW! Nicolette made the Jambalaya. Post game meal was terrific! Anne and Taylor came by the tailgate. Trey, Mark, and his UT friends, Anna, Tony and Jonathan came to the tailgate. A new tailgating record of visitors. WHEW! Everyone helped clean up before departing.
Sunday morning the generator switched off because the fuel dropped to 1/4 tank. The water level was low so all the dishes had to come home to be cleaned. No coffee because there is no generator. Jonathan went for breakfast, coffee and papers. We got everything packed up and cleaned up. The RV needs fuel and then to dump and fill with water. The trip home was uneventful.
A great weekend in T-town. A beautiful weekend spent with family and friends. WHOOOOOO!

Bama - v - South Carolina October 17, 2009

Finally back in T-Town. YEA!! Allie, aka, the RV, spent the past 2 weeks at the hospital getting some roof work. Allie is finally going back to Tuscaloosa. Tim, and Jonathan in the RV and Tanya followed in the car. We arrived in TTown and had to fill with fuel and water. Not repeating the Atlanta water woes. We learned our lesson. Fill with water when you reach your destination! We pulled into Coleman, parked and set up the RV. We decided to go to Wings for dinner. Nicolette joined us for dinner. Then it was on to Publixs for our weekly shopping trip. The menu for Saturday included Timz Dogz and kabobs so we had a lot to purchase. Next item was Twice the Ice. Finally back at the RV we built a fire in the fire pit. The theme for the Arky game was RAIN and this week was COLD!

Saturday morning, Tim made his weekly breakfast trip and a trip to Super Target for supplies; garbage bags and a cable for the TV. Tim returns with breakfast. Ivan has arrived and another trip is needed to Home Depot. Tim and Ivan go on a shopping mission. Nicolette, James and Leah arrive. Jonathan builds a fire in the fire pit. Tanya takes Mollee and Dottee on a long walk to the stadium and around campus to see the lawn displays. Back at the RV, James has fixed the TV problem. YEA! Steven and Amy arrive. Tim begins making Timz Dogz. Nicolette’s friends Mark and Rick stop by for a visit. It's time to begin grilling. Nicolette makes mac and cheese to go with the kabobs. Tim's friends Ted and Jennifer join us. Candi and Derrick also join the tailgate. Finally it is game time. It is cold. Everyone needs gloves, sweatshirts, jackets, gloves, hot hands, etc. Bama wins. 20-6 It wasn't pretty. It was actually UGLY but it is a WIN! Bama 7 -0. RTR All we want for Christmas is a trip to Pasadena.

Sunday morning the decision is made to skip breakfast, clean up, pack up and have lunch on the way home. It was a messy clean up. The fire pit was a mess. Poor Tim! The grill is a mess and gets pack to be cleaned at home. It was a great weekend.

Bama - v- Arkansas Sept 25-27

The theme for this week is Roast the Hogs! Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee and Mollee left Anniston later than expected because Tanya had a meeting, then a conference call and Tim was "roasting a hog" and some chickens. :) Ivan and Pattie are making "pigs in a blanket". Traffic was heavy but we had no problems on the way to Tuscaloosa. We picked up the RV and on to Coleman Coliseum. Ivan and Pattie were already in T-Town so we called them to get them to go to Mugshots and get a table. This is Pattie's first trip to Mugshots. It was a good as usual. Next to Publixs, and then to Twice the Ice.

Saturday morning, Tim went for breakfast. Tanya took Dottee and Mollee for a walk around the stadium, through sorority row and up University back to Coleman. People tailgating on University were actually roasting a pig. There was a hog head in bucket.

Pattie and Ivan arrived and Pattie began to help Tim with the "Timz Dogzs:". Nicolette, Jayme, Nan, and Ellen arrived. The rain began. It rained on and off. Steve, Amy and Isabella arrive. Tim decides to ride the bike to take "Dogz" to the Hulseys and it begins to POUR Rain. Tanya has to take the Escalade to go find him. It rained about 10 minutes and by then Tim had arrive at the Hulseys. Tanya rescued him. A quick trip to Burnos and by then it has stopped raining so he can ride his bike back to the RV. Finally it is game time. It is hog roasting time! It's a great game. During the game, a man sitting behind Tanya gets into an argument with Stand Up Man and his friends. The police came. It was ugly. All because Stand Up Man stands up ALL the time and no one can see around him. The least he can do is sit when everyone else is sitting! Bama wins!

After the game it was time to eat the pork. Great job Timmy! It was a great day. Tim and Isabella had their picture taken with Mt. Cody! It was great weekend.
Sunday morning, pack up and clean up went well. The RV is coming home to be repaired. The roof is leaking. Traffic was bad but no problems getting to Anniston.

Roll Tide.

Bama - v - North Texas 9/19/09

The Theme for the weekend was RAIN: Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee and Mollee left for Tuscaloosa on Friday afternoon. The trip included RAIN! Picking up the RV in Cottondale was no problem and it wasn't raining but dark clouds were gathering. We were turning into Coleman Coliseum’s parking lot and the flood began. It rained and it rained and it rained. Tanya was trapped in car and Tim and Jonathan in the RV. We do not have an umbrella or rain jackets. Ivan was traveling through the rain on his way to T-town. Ivan arrives, found a parking space a couple blocks away and walked in the POURING RAIN to the RV lot. Finally, it let up enough for us to straighten the RV in our parking space, unpack the car, level the RV and let out the slides. Then it was off to Mugshots to meet Ninette, Skip, Nicolette and Sara for dinner. Good friends and good food. We couldn't have asked for a better Friday night. Ok, no rain, but that that would be our only request. The rain continued. Off to Publix's for our weekly shopping trip. Why we are never chosen as the Publix's tailgaters of the week, I will NEVER understand. Our next stop was Twice the Ice. We should get a discount because we buy so much ice during football season. Finally, back at the RV, we complete the unloading process while it is RAINING and RAINING. Tim begins to set up the satellite. We notice that the RV ceiling is wet. The RV roof is leaking. There must be hail damage from the hail storm in February. An hour later, Tim gives up on the satellite and we call it a night. Surly, the rain will be gone by Saturday morning and we can set up the satellite. And Tim can call the insurance agent. Ivan has a new bed. Hopefully, this one will not go flat during the night.

Saturday morning began early because of the early kickoff time of 11:20. Tim once again begins the process of setting up the satellite. It is STILL RAINING! It is POURING. Ivan decides to go home and skip the game because of the rain. He leaves. It is still raining. Other RVers are helping Tim with the satellite. Big ballgame day and we need the satellite. Tanya picks up breakfast. It’s still raining. James and Leah arrive. James begins to assist with the satellite situation. Nicolette and Sara arrive. It is STILL RAINING and Tim is still working on the satellite. Ivan returns. He hydroplaned through a red light and Pattie called him and told him the weather was clearing in T-town but too horrible to drive to Cedartown. Yea, Ivan’s back. It is STILL RAINING and Tim is still working on the satellite. Some tools borrowed from fellow RVers and the satellite is fixed. YEA for Tim. Gameday is on ESPN and we can now watch! WHOOOOO! Steve, Amy, and Isabella arrive. It is STILL RAINING! The gang sets up the Bama Easy up and sets up the TV outside. Whew, finally, everything is ready. Yea, the rain has stopped. Everyone carries a poncho to the game. Tim and Tanya did not ride bikes to the game because of the weather. The game was terrific if you are a Bama Fan. Bama has a for real quarterback. Greg McElroy is fantastic. If he stays healthy, he will own all the quarterback records at Alabama. Mark Ingram, Trent Richardson, and Terry Grant are amazing. Tim left the game at half time to go back to the RV to make Timz Dogz. Jonathan left at the beginning of the 4th quarter and Ivan left during the 4th quarter. Tanya stayed to the end and walked back with James, Leah, Amy and Isabella. Steve left during the 1st quarter because of the heat. It didn’t rain during the game. Tim had to take the bike to Publix because he couldn’t find the kraut for the Timz Dogz. After the game, everyone devours the chicken nuggets provided by James and Leah while awaiting the Timz Dogz. Jonathan’s Chicken Pasta was a big hit too. We watched and cheered as Tennessee lost to UF and then as USC lost to Washington! WHOOOO Bama will move up to # 3. Steve and Amy decided to stay and watch the AU – West Virginia game and Georgia- Arkansas game. A terrific day in Tuscaloosa.  FYI - it rained and rained and it wasn't really HOT but we still went through 109 lbs of ICE in the ice chest to keep the drinks cold!

Sunday morning, despite the rain, yes, it rained during the night, cleanup was not bad. Tim went for breakfast and newspapers. Filling with fuel, water and dumping all went well. A successful morning. Five more sleeps and we will be back! RTR

Bama - v - Florida International 9/12/09

The weekend began with the trip to T-Town. Tim, Tanya, Jonathan, Dottee and Mollee arrived in T-town around 7 PM. We began our weekly routine:

• dump the tanks

• fill with fuel and water.

• Park in spot 61 in Coleman Coliseum

• Level the RV

• Put up the generator tailpipe

• Start the generator

• Let out the slides

• Unpack

• Set up the satellite

• Get Dinner

• Go to Publix

• Go to Twice the Ice

• Set up outside - chairs, awning, chairs, easy up, etc....

After parking we skipped to dinner because we were starving. We went to Mugshots. WOW! What a wonderful burger! We were lucky. There wasn't a wait and we got a table immediately. We completed our list near midnight. No problems this time! WHOOOOOOO!

Saturday morning Ivan arrived. Tim and Ivan left to go get breakfast and to Brunos for the Bryan hotdogs that Publix’s does not carry. After breakfast, Tim and Ivan went on a special mission to find an ice chest that also serves as a warmer. Nicolette and Megan arrived. Janis, Randy, Breanna, and Hunter Burns arrived. They are going to become regular tailgaters. Nan and Ellen arrived as did Steve, Amy, and Isabelle. Tim and Ivan returned without an ice chest. Time for Tim to begin cooking the hot dogs. Everyone contributed food and we snacked, ate and watched football for hours. Timz Dogz were a huge hit. We only cooked 24 and they were all consumed. We had other tailgate visitors as well. Jeremy, Gabe, and Jacob Ryder were able to come because James and Leah couldn't make it because Leah had a graduate class to attend. Some friends from our former seats in Bryant Denny also came and visited (Ann and her dad, nephew and nephew's friend). John and Brenda dropped by for a visit too. It is wonderful to spend Saturday's with friends in T-Town.

Finally it is game time. Time to go to our new seats. Tim and I rode our bikes and chained the gate. We find our way in and get to our seats only to find "stand up all the time" man right in front of Tanya. He stood the WHOLE first half. Bama has the lead at half but it hasn't been easy. Greg McElroy set a record of 14 passing completions. During the half, Tim and Tanya walk around; bring back drinks for Ivan and Jonathan and peanuts for Tim. "Stand up all the time" man is not there. YEA! We can actually see the field and that the field contains football players. About 5 plays into the 2nd half, "stand up all the time" man returns. Tim throws a peanut at the man and Ivan tells him to sit down. Reluctantly, he sits. YEA! It’s ok to stand if everyone is standing, BUT to stand when everyone else is sitting is not polite to the people around you. We all stand too but when the person sits in front of us we sit too. Trent Richardson came to play. He was amazing. Then during the 4th quarter, the girl behind Tim has been yelling all game but something happens to her voice and it becomes this ear piercing yell that resembles Mollee's squelching bark. The Tide has taken control of the game and a few people are leaving. Our new seats are several rows above Amy and Steve's seats so we can't take it anymore and move near them. Bama Wins! WHOOOOO! Now to exit. Exiting on the north side is much more difficult than exiting the south. The crowd is unbelievable. We unchain our bikes and begin to walk them out. We tried to exit right but couldn't budge so we tried left. BIG MISTAKE. It was bad. We went to Wallace Wade drive which now has a dedicated lane for buses and such. Left on Bryant and we hit a traffic jam of people. We turned around, hopped on the bikes, followed Bryant to 12th and turned on 12th. We followed it to 7th, turned left and then Right on Bryant which was much less crowed on that end. Turned by the aquatic center and home to the RV. Whew! Note to self - park the bikes at Tutwiler or sorority row. Anywhere but by gate 4.

Chicken and pasta salad were on the menu for the post game meal. IT was a great day, great game and great evening. Everyone pitched in and helped clean up outside before calling it a night.

Ivan spent the night and left early Sunday morning. The Sunday morning routine began with Tim going for breakfast and papers. Before he left, he carried an ice chest to the grassy area to let it drain the water. When we returned from getting breakfast, he went to get the ice chest and it was GONE! Yes, gone! It was full of ice and drinks! We think the folks driving around picking up the trash picked it up too. Add ice chest to the shopping list! Along with water, cokes, etc......

The Sunday morning routine continued. Packing the car, cleaning the RV, filling with fuel, dumping the tanks, filling with water, parking the RV, etc. WHEW!!!! The trip home was flawless.

It was a terrific weekend. 5 more sleeps and we will repeat the whole process. RTR

Bama v Va Tech in ATL

Tim, Tanya and Jonathan took the RV to ATL on Thursday night.  Easy set up!  Ivan and Chris arrived via MARTA on Friday morning.  Taco Mac was our choice for lunch and we grilled out steak on Friday night. Problem #1: Tanya forgot the Kraut for the Timz Dogzs.  Sent a text to Leah and to Amy.  Amy responded and whoooo, she went to WalMart and saved Tanya butt.  Problem #2: Getting the RV ready for eveyone to sleep and Tanya realizes that there is NOT a pump for inflated bed on which Ivan is to sleep.  Hair dryer to the rescue but it is SLOW.  Then the compressor and we finally get the bed inflated. Problem # 3: Bed goes flat during the night as Ivan is sleeping on it.  Bed is thrown away on Saturday morning.

Saturday morning saw the arrival of the Duncan's,  Amy, Steve, James and Leah.  Nan and Ellen, and John and Brenda joined the tailgate.  Saturday morning also brought some RV trials.  Problem #4:Water shortage and problem #5: a flat tire!  Steve and Tim went to a store and purchased water which had to be poured into the RV tank.  The tire was inflated.  Now to make Timz Dogz and problem # 6: Tanya forgot to pack the roller part of the hot dog cooker!  Fire up the gill.  40  hotdogs later and everyone is enjoying a Timz Dogz.  Then the Chick Fila folks came by and gave everyone a sandwich!  WOW!  Then the ice cream girls came and gave everyone an ice cream sandwich.  Cool! Barry and Evan visited.  Barry helped us find the radios needed for the game.  Finally it is game time Bama wins! WHOOOOO

Our seats in the DOME were terrific.  Yes, we were on row 4 but it was terrific.  We were directly behind the team on the 40 yd line.  I love the strength and conditioning coach.  He is a wild man. He ran around the side line all night making sure the players were fired up and beliving that they can win in the 4th quarter.  Tim made friends when we sat down.  What a small world!  The man beside Tim was from Dothan and the lady in front of him was also from Dothan and graducated from Northview HS. Go Cougars!  The game was terrific.  I love college football.  It was a great game!  RTR

Sunday pack up was easy until we realized that problem #4:  the tire was once again flat.  Tire inflated and we are off. Time to dump the tanks.  Exit 19 here we come only to find out Problem # 7: the city of Temple has CLOSED the dump station. Finally we find a campground and are going to pay to dump.  Problem #8, the spot we pull into - the drain is full.  Finally we move to another spot, pay, dump and continue home.  Fuel is needed, gas station found and fuel added.

Camping World here we come.  We need chemicals and a right angle tire valve since that is what is causing the flats.  Supplies gather and we finally reach home.  Great Weekend! RTR
