October 26-28, 2012 Bama - v - Mississippi State

We were able to leave Friday at 2 PM. YEA!   We made it to the RV spot around 4 PM.  Tim wanted to wash the RV and change the oil in the generator. 

I went to WD for ice and a big cookie.  

Tim was washing the RV when I got back to the RV storage lot.  I walked to the dumpster to throw away a bag of garbage.  I met a little girl who lived at the campground.  Mercy!  She asked me did I live there and I explained that we left our RV there .  She was riding her bicycle. 

I saw Ms. Kimbrough and talked with her for a few minutes.   When I walked back to the car, Tim said the battery was dead!  I left the radio on.  I walked back to see if Ms. Kimbrough and husband could jump us off but a man sitting outside a camper stopped me and offered to help us.  He brought his truck over and jumped off the caddie.  We offered to pay him but he refused.  Said he a Christian and it was his duty.

Time to proceed to the RV Lot.  I was the first person in the lot!  Tim pulled in and we got the RV set up.  It is suppose to rain so we didn't set up anything outside.  We met Ivan, Steve, Amy, Isabella and Zeke at Newks. The Hulsey's were there too.  Great Friday night.

Saturday AM:  Tim went to Home Depot for a firepit.  I set up the RV inside and outside then took the dogs for a walk to the Quad and to see the lawn decorations on sorority row.   When I returned Tim was back and had a fire going in the new fire pit.  It is cool and windy.

Ivan, Steve, Amy, Isabella, and Zeke arrived.   James, Leah, Nan, and Ellen arrived.   Nicolette and 4 friends arrived.  We watched football. 

I began making Timz Dogz.  People left for the parade. Anne, Ryan, Taylor and friends arrived.  Taylor had two friends and Ryan had two friends.   Randy brought us a present.  It is a houndstooth elephant for the yard and it says, The Barnes'  It is adorable.   Kim S painted our name on it.  A thoughtful gift from the Burns and Smith's.  

We grilled grilled and snacked all day while watching football.  Finally it was time for the game.

BAMA wins! YEA!!! Allie is 57-10.  Whooohooo.  We all returned to the RV after the game.

I took the Duncan's and Ray's to Nephies, aka, Hotel Patel after the traffic died down.  Everyone helped clean up and put away all the  tailgating stuff before leaving.  That was a great help especially since we have to leave early on Sunday AM because Tim is on call on Sunday.

Sunday AM :  we completed clean up and packing up.  We took the RV to fill with fuel and then to the storage.  Tim remembered we need to pick up my bike.  We dumped the RV, emptied the water heater and then stored the RV. 

Then to pick up the bike.  By this time it is 11 pm, so much for leaving early so we called the Shrimp Basket and pick up a lunch to go. 

Finally, we proceeded home and the trip was uneventful.  A great fall weekend with family and friends. 

September 28-30 2012 Bama-v-Ole Miss

We were able to leave around 4PM. YEA!   We arrived in Tuscaloosa around 6 and to the lot by 6:30.  We got the RV set ua and I went to get Pattie, Ivan and Anderson.  We grilled hamburgers in the lot and played with Anderson.  Mollee has stomach issues so had to get some medicine in her and watch her.  She doesn't feel well.  Anderson had a great time playing football with Tim and me.

Saturday morning we slept in until almost 8.  Mollee is a little better.  Not peppy, not herself.

We had 50 lbs of ice on Friday night and now it is down to almost nothing.  The 1st two weeks we left the ice chests inside the RV over night and this week we left them outside.

Ivan is bringing us breakfast.  I take the dogs for a walk.  We got our 3 miles in and then I rode my bike to look for a new route from the stadium to avoid campus drive as much as possible.  When I returned, Tim took a ride.  Ivan, Pattie, Jonathan and Anderson arrived.  I began cooking Timz Dogz.  Jonathan, Tim, and Ivan ran some errands.  I played catch with Anderson wile cooking.  The boys returned.  Anderson helped with the hot dogs.  Nan, Ellen, and Anne arrived.  Jonathan left to go get James, Leah and Julie!  Janis and Randy arrive.  Pattie and I finally finished the hot dogs. 

Tim and I rode our bicycles to visit the Hulsey's to see their new camper.  Kick off is at 815 pm.  We grilled all types of food and ate and snacked all day.  A few rain drops fell so all the food went inside.  Finally it was time to go to the game.  Pattie and Anderson stayed at the RV and watched some of the game until something happened and TV lost the guide.

Mollee is better but still not herself.

Bama won!  Allie is 56-10!  The game was over at midnight.  Back at the RV, Anderson was asleep but not for long as everyone arrive and began heating food.  Once again rain drops fell and it was back into the RV.  Everyone helped put away chairs and stuff to keep everything from getting soaked by the rain.  Anderson spent the night in the RV.  Everyone else stayed at the Hotel Patel or Nicolette's Apt.  Anderson wanted to watch TV and I fell asleep.    He woke me up and asked me to turn off the TV so he could go to sleep.  He said Tim had turned off his TV so it was time to turn off of our TV. 

Sunday morning we slept until about 8 am. Pattie, Ivan, and Jonathan brought breakfast.  it was POURING RAIN.  It rained all night.  Tim worked on cleaning the outside and I worked on the inside.  Ivan, Pattie, and Anderson leave for home.   Jonathan helps with the clean up process. Cleaning and packing in the rain is NO fun. 

Finally everything is clean, and packed.  It was time to go fill with fuel, dump, fill with water and park the RV.   It took more fuel to fill the Caddies than to fill the RV!   Good weekend!  

Next to Jonathan's apt to shower and go to lunch.  Lunch is at Baumhowers and it was terrific.  Now it is time to go home.  Another great Sunday afternoon with Nephie.  It is still raining.  Puring to be exact  It rained all the way home.  No problems other than the rain made the drive incredibly difficult.  Another great weekend with our Bama Tailgating family.

We are able to leave around 5 pm.  We get to Ttown with no problems and very little traffic.  We pick up the RV and get to the lot around 730.

As we set up the RV, the softball National Championship celebration began.  We listened and cheered as we were getting every together. 



Tonya Mitchell and I went to newks for takeout dinner.  Then I worled on the TV's and the satalitte.  I was able to get all 3 TVs to receive the satalitte signal. YEA!  

Jonathan came over after work adn decided to spend the night with us. YEA!  We were awake until almost 1 AM.


Saturday AM: I took the pups for a walk and Tim and Jonathn went for breakfast.  Just like old times.

Ivan, Matt, Janis, Randy, Kim S, Nan, Ellen, James, Leah and Anne P all arrived.










I made Timz Dogz.  Jonathan's friends, Brittany and Buddy, Becky Jeremy Jacob and Mattie arrived.

Kickoff was at 4 PM. Bama Won! Allie is 55-10

After the game, we warmed up all the food and ate again.

Taylor and friend joined the group.   Once again, we were all up until past midnight.  What a great day,

Sunday AM: I took the pups for a walk, 

Jonathan and Tim went for breakfast.  We spent the afternoon with Jonathan.

The clean up took a while.  We went to WingsU for lunch.

We had a great day.  The trip home was uneventful.  It was a great weekend.

2012 Season Begins: Bama -v- Western Kentucky

September 7-9, 2012

Bama -v- Western Kentucky

Time to take the RV to Tuscaloosa and begin football season 2012.  

Tim, Tanya, Dottee, Mollee and Spencer.  Yes, Spencer!  Spencer is going tailgating! 

We "Barnesee" around and did not leave until 4:20.  We were using walkie talkies since I was in the car following the RV.  The walkie talkies were not working well so we stopped in Coldwater to check the batteries.  While stopped, Time realized he forgot to pack his "hang up  clothes".  So,he waited in Coldwater in the RV and I went back for his clothes.  Finally we are on our way.  Traffic was not too bad and we made it to the RV Storage lot (to fill the RV with water) by 7:30.   Janis and Randy are staying at the campground this weekend.  We  visited with them while the RV filled with water.   Then to the gas station to fill with fuel. 

Shell station is our next stop so we can use our fuel perks from Winn Dixie to save money on the fuel.  Finally, we reach the RV lot.  Whew!  

We get set up and began grilling burgers.  Pattie and Ivan arrive and bring supplies for tailgating.  We must have been starving because those were the best burgers I've ever eaten!  James and Leah came to the lot and got the key to Hotel Patel.  Nephie came after work.   The night quickly ended.  Everyone was gone by 11 PM.  Earliest we ever gone to bed on a Friday night in Ttown.  

Saturday AM began around 730 am.  Switched on the TV and a thin line appeared.   The TV in the RV died.  Worked on Friday night, didn't work on Saturday AM.  

Janis and Randy arrive with ice and then leave to see their Branna and Hunter.  I took all 3 dogs for our traditional Saturday morning walk to the Quad.  Some traditions can't be ignored.  Ivan, arrives with ice and chicken fingers.   Pattie, James, Leah, and Jonathan arrive.  Ivan and Tim go to Best Buy for a new TV.  Pattie and I begin working on Timz Dogz.  Pattie takes over and I get a shower. 

Ellen and Nan arrive with ice.  YEA!   We have lots of ice for drinks and keeping stuff cold.  Anne P and Ryan arrive.  They set up the 2 EZ up shelters.  Nicolette arrives.  The gang is all here.  Tim and Ivan return with a TV.   James attempts to get the TV setup inside. No luck but the outside TV works. We all watch ballgames outside.  Ann and Dennis Couch joined the gang.  Ann's first Bama game!  I ride a bike to the stadium and have our gameday radios from last year reprogrammed.   We watch AU and Mississippi State until it is finally time to go to the game. Bama wins .35-0!  RTR  Allie is 54-10!

Tim left the game early in the 4th quarter.  I gave him the wrong combination for the locks on our bikes.  He walked back to the RV.   

After I arrived at the RV, I attempted to get up the new TV and in the process lost all TV!  Anne P and James to the rescue.  They figured out that that the cable from the satellite  bad.  They connected the satellite directly to the outside TV and we were back in business.   We had a great time watching GA and Missouri.  Anne, Ryan, Taylor and Cade helped clean up outside and put away the EZ ups and chairs.  Nephie came over after worked and he spent the night with us in the RV.  It was great to have nephie in the RV.  

Sunday morning, Tim went for breakfast and papers.  Normal routines are once again established.  Nephie and I walked the dogs to the Quad, up University drive and back to the RV.  Nephie took Dottee to see Mary Catherine at the yogurt shop.  Tim and I finished the clean up, dumping adn fillign with fuel.  Then to Nephie's apt for showers adn then to Willlhagans for lunch.  

Yumy food!.  Finally we were on the road home.  A great weekend with family and friends.
