October 7 - 9, 2011 Bama - v - Vandy

 Tanya, Tim, Dottee and Mollee --  Getting in the car, Tanya and Tim go through the  mental checklist and realize that they do not have the tickets.  Where is Nephie when we need him?  Tanya went back in for the tickets and found the basket of towels and laundry for the RV.  Gee, we miss Nephie 

Finally on the road and before Leeds, the traffic stops!  It was slow for about 30 more more  minutes.  It took forever to get to T Town.  Tim washed the RV upon arriving at the RV storage site.  Tanya went for ice.  Pattie and Ivan are already in TTown and are going to the pep rally and bon fire.  We are grilling burgers at the RV so Tanya picks up supplies at Nephies apartment.  We get the RV set up an are grilling when Ivan, Pattie and Jonathan return from the bon fire.

 Amy once again joins us spends the night at the RV.  Morning comes and the coffee is ready.  Tanya opens the cabinet and the bag of coffee fall out and hits Amy in the head.  Mollee jumps on the bed and gives Amy a kiss.

Tim goes for a bike ride. Amy goes to Nephie for a shower. Tanya makes Timz dogzs. Jonathan drops off breakfast. YUM, Chick Fil A.

Nan and Melaine arrive and are soon off to the parade. Janis and Randy arrive. Tanya continues to make Timz Dogz. Finally, Ivan, Pattie, Sharon, Larry and Jonathan arrive. Tanya takes the pups for walk. James, Leah, and Amy arrive. Tim returns from the bike ride and Tanya returns from the walk to the dogs. We began watching football and snacking. It is a beautiful day.

Janis, Randy, Hunter and Brianna and roommate return from the parade. Let the grilling begin. Bring Burgdorf, Mollee and lots of his Vandy friends visit the tailgate. Anne P, Debbie and son arrive. There is much food that there is no need for Anne P to cook food.



James and Tim fly a kite.



Tim bought 2 tickets to the game and has donated them to the Veterans Tics website. he is coordinating the pickup.

Julie arrives. Nan's chicken dip and brownies are a hit. Mary Catherine joins the party. Finally it is game time. Tim and Tanya ride the bikes to the game, park the bikes but no bike lock. Tanya sprints back to the RV for the lock. Janis, and Randy stay at the TV and watch the game. Bama wins 34-0. Allie is 51- 9. Whoo Hooo. After the game, the military personal who received the tickets came by the RV. A great way to honor their service to our country.

Anne P's college roommate and friend came by to visit. Taylor also came by after the game. Everyone helped put away the chairs, awning and rugs. That is a huge help.

 

 

Sunday morning, Nephie returned the Caddie and James picked up his grill.  Tim went for breakfast.  The cleanup went smoothly.  Fuel for the RV, only $60.YEA!  Nephie met us at the storage site. No problems dumping and storing.  No problems on the way home.

Ole Miss is next and then back to TTown for UT week.  WhooHooo.

Bama V Arkansas September 23-25, 2011

Tim, Tanya, Dottee and Mollee:

We left early (3:30)  so Tim could change the oil in the generator before moving to the RV Lot 8.  Nephie met us at the RV storage.  Food theme for the week is Roast the Hogs!  Nephie is making Boston Butts in the crock pot.  He picked up a "butt" and a crock pot and sent to his apartment.  Pattie and Ivan arrive at the RV storage.  We decided to grill out burgers at the lot instead of going out to eat. 

Tanya, Pattie and Ivan went to WD.  Tim went to Lot 8.  Dinner supplies secured, Tanya got to the RV lot and Pattie and Ivan go to Nephies.  Tanya begins leveling the RV and getting set up.  Pattie, Ivan and Jonathan arrive adn hlep unload and set up.  Tonya and Jay (our neighbors) arrive.  We are unloading and Ninette and Skip come by to say hello. Tim began the grilling process. Wtih the set up process complete, it is time for dinner. Nephie leaves to let James and Leah into his apartment.   Ray hotel is open for business.

Amy Dos comes by the RV. She is all alone this week.  Tim and Tanya offer for her to stay at the RV .

 
 Nephie returns to pick up Ivan and Pattie and all go back to his apt.  Amy Dos decides to spend the night in the RV.

Saturday morning begins at 7:30.  Kickoff is at 2:30 so everyone will arrive early.  Tanya makes coffee and then takes the dogs for a walk to the Quad.  Nephie brings breakfast.  Tim  begins the hot dog making process.  Tanya returns from the walk and begins helping make hot dogs. Pattie, Ivan, Jonathan, James and Leah arrive.  Pattie helps with the hot dogs while Tanya gets a shower.

The tents were set up on Friday night but we decided to move one of the tents.  So four people each got a leg and we walked the tent around Jay and Tonya's RV in order to rearrange the tents to provide shade all the way across the RV.

Nan and Ellen arrive. Nicolette and Kelly arrive.  Brian Vickers and Katelin arrive.  Today is Katelin's birthday and her first Alabama game. 

Tim had to take the bike to Rite Aid to get ice.  It is warmer than expected and we are running out of ice.

Anne P and Shelby, an Arky fan, Mike and Jim arrive about 1 hour before the kickoff.  They wer stuck in traffic.

Pattie is staying at the RV during the game.  It's finally game time   Tanya and Tim ride bikes to the game.  At the gate, the bag checker says no backpacks and then he and another fan get into a heated discussion over backpacks.  While they wer arguing, Tanya and Tim go in the gate.  Next time, bring a bag for stuff.  No backpacks. 

Bama WINS!  38-14.  Allie is 50-9.  Roll Tide!

Back at teh RV, Pattie has all the food out.  We heat the mac and cheese and potatoes on the grill.

Taylor joins us for the after the game festivities.  Jule joined us for dinner and then remained to watch football with us.   Everyone left except Jonathan and Julie.  They helped put away chairs, tents, plates, and stuff on the tables.

 Sunday morning, there was still a lot to do.  The tables, arugs and Big Al had to be stored.  The table cloths were a loss.   They were too dirty to clean.  Tanya cleaned inside and Tim cleaned out side. 

Nephie brought breakfast and papers.

Time to leave..... Nephie has brunch plans so Tim and Tanya fill the RV with fuel (only $75, year), then to the dump site, next fill with water and store the RV.  Back in two weeks for homecoming.



Dottee is thinking that Uncle Ivan will eventually give her some dinner.



  

September 16-18, 2011 Bama - v - North Texas

Tanya, Ivan, Pattie, Dottee and Mollee pick up Tim at the hospital and we are on our way to T town.  Ivan and Pattie are riding to Ttown with Tim and Tanya.  No trouble on the trip.  We had to make a detour in Ttown to pick up tickets for Tims' friend.  Nephie met us at the RV storage.  Tim and Ivan proceeded to the lot while Tanya, Pattie, and Jonathan got ice and dropped off stuff at Jonathan's apt.  The RV set up went quickly with 5 people  Dinner was at Carmellows.  Nephie had made a Bruno's run early on Friday so after dinner we went back to the RV.  The game on Saturday begins at 6:30 so we can have a late Friday and late Saturday.

Saturday morning was a lazy morning. Tanya's morning:  Attempt to take a shower, no hot water.  Get out of the shower, and turn on the hot water heater.  While it is heating, set up the remaining chairs. Attempt to take another shower, still no hot water.  Get of the of the shower again, turn on the gas and let the water heat.  Set up the takes outside.  Attempt for a third time to take a shower, still no hot water.  Turn on the electric water heater, still no water.  Time to seek help.  Tim to the rescue.  He turns on and off the electric and the gas heater until finally  it lights.  Note to self:  be sure gas is on before attempting to start the hot water heater. 

After finally getting a shower, Tanya takes the dogs for a walk to the Quad.  It is a beautiful day for  walk. Ivan , Pattie and Jonathan arrive with sausage balls and a chicken biscuit for Tim.

Nan and Ellen arrive.  It is football all day.   Candi, Ms. Thrash, Hannah, and McKenzie arrive.  Gina, Randy, Will and Ashton Reaves arrive.

It is a full house.  Anne P and her dad also finally arrive.

Tim'z dogz and chicken fingers are on the menu as well as Texas Caviar, Spicy Crackers and Pimento and Cheese.  Finally it is game time.  Bama won!   Allie is 49-9.

Missing from the day are the Duncan's, Burns and Nalu.  

Sunday morning we slept in since were up until midnight.  Pattie, Ivan and Jonathan arrive to help clean up inside and out.   Clean up takes a couple of hours and then its off to dump.  Pattie gets to experience the whole set up and take down including the dump process.

Tanya, Jonathan and Pattie take the dogs to Jonathan's apt and then to the dump site.  After storing the RV, it's onto Wings U for lunch.  It is really nice to get to spend Sunday morning and afternoon with Nephie. 

The drive home was flawless.  It was a GREAT weekend.
